Wedding of the year! |
Congratulations to Neal, who tied the knot with Clare’s sister Sammy on 17th September 2011 in Cookham.
Despite all the stress beforehand, it really was a perfect day: with Clare on hand as chief bridesmaid, event management was flawless, from the ceremony to the reception onboard a riverboat on the Thames. The sun shone, the bride looked beautiful, the champagne flowed... And of course, as you might expect from a perfectionist such as Neal, the wedding stationery was exquisite!

Millgate Homes makes history |
Congratulations – Millgate Homes once again has cause for celebration following the glittering Evening Standard New Homes Awards ceremony on Friday, 13th May; at which it was awarded the coveted Eros statue for ‘The Best New Home’ for the third time in four years.
While Millgate has a track record of success in these prestigious awards – having amassed some 22 accolades in the past decade alone – its achievement over the past few years is unprecedented. This year’s winning property, the former Show Home at Wargrave Park in the Thames-side village of Wargrave, joins the developer’s former Eros winners; Longwood Manor in Kenley, which was bestowed the prize in 2010, and Warnborough House at Woodham Park, Woking, which was awarded the honour in 2008, in a very exclusive hall of fame.
This outstanding achievement is testament to the company’s dedication to excellence and as a creative design agency who also believe in and strive for excellence in everything it does, Avatar Creative are proud to be involved. Avatar were asked to design and produce the award submission in the form of bespoke made blind embossed folders and high quality glossy insert pages. As in previous years the work was completed to a very high standard and played an integral part in the award submission.

Designed to be different |
With two prestigious new developments located very close to each other, you might think that Millgate Homes would find it a difficult to market each one individually. Although quite different – Maple Place in Kingswood, Surrey, is a select development of just three 5 bedroom detached new homes from £2.5 million, while Elizabeth Place in nearby Tadworth comprises a range of apartments, semi-detached and detached homes ranging from £320,000 upwards – both developments share the same high quality and attention to detail associated with Millgate Homes.
Fortunately, they knew they could rely on Avatar Creative to create promotional material that would highlight their unique personalities – while still remaining within the Millgate Homes corporate style. For Maple Place, we drew on the maple trees around the site, inspiring a rich, autumnal palette, while Elizabeth Place was designed with an elegant cream and gold scheme. These designs were then adapted across a full range of marketing material, including invitations, digital and printed brochures, html campaigns, hoarding and both sales and agent displays.

Davis Tate go interactive |
Charged with the task of raising the profile of a local estate agent in Woodley, Berkshire, and the surrounding area, Avatar created an e-mailer with a difference to be sent to prospective clients.
This interactive digital mini-brochure not only promoted the services of Davis Tate – who already had a strong reputation across Berkshire and Oxfordshire – but also implicitly highlighted the company’s experience with Internet selling and modern technology.
Potential customers were invited to avail of a free no obligation marketing appraisal of their home: all they had to do was fill in their details online the back of the mini-brochure and then submit the form electronically to Davis Tate.
Avatar’s eye-catching design and easy to use mini-brochure has proved very successful in the Woodley area, with Davis Tate gaining a number of new instructions as a direct result of the promotion.
Avatar’s eye-catching design and easy to use mini-brochure has proved to be a big help.

Letfirst makes the smarter choice with Avatar |
Avatar Creative recently came first in the race to win Orchard & Shipman as a new client. Competing against four other agencies from right across the UK, we won the pitch to produce all of the marketing collateral for letfirst, a new service from the national lettings agency.
Our proposals for new campaign leaflets, a microsite (let-first.com), exhibition stand, To Let boards and PP PO forms convinced the client that we could deliver highly creative solutions, all designed around the simple, yet effective positioning statement: “make the smarter choice your first choice”.
In addition, our efficient service and quick turnaround ensured that the collateral was produced in record time, ready for the timely launch of the campaign in Edinburgh. The campaign is now due to be rolled out nationwide.

Up, online and away! |
At Avatar, we've had our head in the clouds. We were commissioned to design a microsite and logo for a new cloud computing service from Sire Technology.
Designing a simple, yet dynamic layout that maximised ease of use, we created a striking visual of a Sire Cloud key on a computer key pad, suggesting instant availability, responsiveness and ease of access. We also came up with a strapline that not only sold Sire Cloud’s services but also put their IT expertise right up-front: “Flexibility // scalability // availability.” See for yourself at www.sirecloud.co.uk

Millgate Homes’ bright idea |
So, what do you do if you’re a property developer trying to market one of your developments in the dark, snowy days of December?
Knowing that the one thing most people do just before Christmas is go shopping, Millgate Homes took the novel decision to let hit the high street themselves. For xx weeks, they took over the windows of a vacant store in the heart of Wargrave, where they were able to promote local development Dark Lane to both shoppers and passing drivers alike.
Avatar designed and produced vinyl posters that were reverse mounted over the entire window area, using high definition printing and photography to achieve superb visibility. This was enhanced by simply turning on the lights inside the shop – creating a vast light-box that ensured the graphics had maximum impact during December’s minimal hours of daylight.
In addition, we ensured that the windows served a dual purpose – as well as highlighting the quality of the development, the signage directed potential purchasers to the site.

Pantone colour of the year 2011 |
Honeysuckle – while the 2010 colour of the year, Turquoise, served as an escape for many, Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigour. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.
In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating colour that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues. Honeysuckle derives its positive qualities from a powerful bond to its mother colour red, the most physical, viscerally alive hue in the spectrum.
The intensity of this festive reddish pink allures and engages. In fact, this colour, not the sweet fragrance of the flower blossoms for which it was named, is what attracts hummingbirds to nectar. Honeysuckle may also bring a wave of nostalgia for its associated delicious scent reminiscent of the carefree days of spring and summer.
